JORDAN NIELD WINS SNOWBOARDER MAGS SUPERPASS...

This past Sunday, February 12th, the Superpass Series made its third stop at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort. It was a gorgeous sunny day, and Sierra-at-Tahoe had more than enough snow to put together an amazing course. Tahoe's best showed up to battle it out for an invite to Superpark 16.
Divided into three zones, Zone 1 featured two jibs; a flat-to-down rail and a large pole jam. Both features were situated on a 6 foot high step-down platform, which allowed competitors to either gap to the down portion of the rail, or send it off the pole jam. Zone 2 featured a perfectly sculpted 55 foot jump, where some of the more technical tricks of the Superpass Series thus far were put down. Zone 3 was a large hip, which could be hit either as a right-sided hip, or could be taken deep to the backside. It was a perfect setup for Superpass, built by one of the best terrain park crews in the country.

In the end, it was the death-defying stunting of Jordan Nield that earned a first place finish, along with an invite to Superpark 16. With several spin variations onto the rail, deep airs on the jump, and multiple double backflip attempts over the hip, Jordan had the crowd and competitors alike cheering. Here he one foots his way to victory...

( BRETTON WOODS, NH) FlowMicron Rider, Chris Spider DePaula capped off asuccessful series tour at The Main Eventby capturing the Most Progressive Rider Award . The award was given to theriders in both the Lightweight Division and Heavyweight Division who showed themost overall progression during theseries.

Chris won a $ 500 dollar gift certificate to Snowboard Jones, a SAS backpack, Bern Helmetand Nixon Headphones and bragging rights!

We have been riding two Chill and Destroy contests the last couple of weeks first in Ehrwald (Austria) and last weekend in Postwiese (Gemany). For the first contest in Ehrwald 3 of the team competed unfortunately Jeremy and Joey could not make it. When we arrived we had some fun building kickers in the area first. And jumping a little Chalet, fun fun fun. Next day the contest started we had some clean runs and the results where great Ziggey ended up in 5^th place Erik was 3^rd and Jazzley took the first win of 2012 for the Flow Micron Team. Great results combined with a great weekend in the snow: STOKED!!!

Last weekend we went too postwiese (Ger) for another Chill and Destroy contest. We arrived there with our entire team so Joey, Erik, Jazzley, Ziggey and Jeremy where all competing in this contest. First we had the chance to ride 2 runs and try qualifying for the final. We all went for it and took some risks, resulting in some mixed results and some crashes. But still 2 of us made it into the final, Erik and Jazzley, they both had 2 solid runs in the final. Both of them finished in the top 3 again only they switched places this time. So Jazzley came in 3^rd and Erik took another win for Flow. As you can see in the picture below Jazzley forgot to bring his board to the podium. Luckily Erik came in for first place to represent Flow on the Podium.

The weather gods were in good mood and let the sun shine during the snowboard competition. The face was well selected and they had a 25cm of fresh powder!

The 1st FWT event this season was held in Revelstoke, Canada. When we arrived it was snowing and we went straight up on the mountain the next morning. Riding was good even if slopes and backcountry get tracked fast. We had some days riding before contest and took the chance to check out all the tree runs you can reach.

Contest face called "Mack face" is just next to the resort. We got a heli flight up there which gave us the chance to see more mountains i.e. lines around Revelstoke. Lots of terrain here!!

I was stoked about my line... first drop, some turns, next drop, don`t miss the entry to the very steep and narrow part of my line, one last drop and pointing the finish gate! yeaHH!! Level of competitors was high, Ralph Backstrom(USA) took the win. Congrats dude! I ended up 5th place

3rd Rail Underarmour Rail Jam

Flow Sponsored riders Chris DePaula ( Henniker, MH) and Jed Sky ( Concord, NH) traveled to Sunday River this past weekend to compete in the 3rd Rail Underarmour Rail Jam. Jed and Chris continue their tear through the east coast events. Jed Sky won the Junior event and Chris took second close behind his teammate. Both riders have stood high on the podium two of the last three competitions that they have participated in. The Underarmour Rail Jam drew over 70 regional competitors.

Next Week Chris and Jed are competing at the Transword Transam Slope Competition to being held at Waterville Valley, NH.

Benny Wetscher, Tom Klocker and me decided to go to Arlberg for some pow shooting! We met Martin and Much Venier (both filmers) and Manu Bernert in Innsbruck to drive in a convoy…

When we came out the last tunnel to St. Christoph we couldn’t believe our eyes, how much snow they had there, just amazing 1.80 fresh of pow!!

To the sessions: On the first day we built this jump kinda like a stepover with alot of pop in it and a pretty long landing too,we decidet to hit it on the next day,what was super nice because the jump became pretty hard!!

So here is day 2: Jumping this sick poppy jump :D Everyone was pretty stoked and felt super good on it,instead of Tom Klocker,he was just like”Ahhh my fucking stupid Rocker board dont want`s me to land something” Hahah!!

OK after we sessioned that jump,we decided to built another one for the next day,where Tom went back home to ride some park jumps…

Day3: Getting up pretty late, our muscels hurt already! Anyways we went up to the jump and hitted it…it was super good i think everyone was stoked again!!

Here is a lil clip what happend beside shooting, i have to say i´m one of the worst video cutters ever :D but have fun with it!!

Jordans one of those kids that needs an introduction to the masses because unfortunately he hasn’t made it yet. If he makes it the snowboard would will benefit from his honesty and passion to ride, if he doesn’t those of us that have met him will still have benefited. He’s a riders rider. Money, sponsors, and bullshit don’t matter just snowboarding for him. I’ve known him for a few years and watched him go from this wild style out of control misfit with no chance of getting a hook up to riding regionally for Flow and refining his wild style to something that is actually fun to watch. Sure he loves Nascar, is accident prone, and a little goofy but at least he is real and snowboarding could learn a thing or two from someone like him.

Dewd almost the entire Flow Snowboarding Team is training in Colorado today at Freeway Terrian Park at Breck for the Winter Dew Tour. Sarka Pancochova, Celia Miller, Julianne Brackett, Scotty Lago, Tim Humphreys, Atsushi Ishikawa, Brandon Reis, Jeremy Thompson, Ian Thorley and 15 yr old young gun Quinton Jones are all going for it. All are in slope and a couple in pipe, the show starts Thursday, TV schedule below...

Sat. (12-10-11) night was an awesome rail jam at Echo Mountain, put on by shred pro Pat Milbery and his So-Gnar crew. This was the first stop for the ShredCircuit (so-gnar.com) rail jam series in conjunction with the So-Gnar Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour , the winner of each stop gets to compete in the finals at Winter Park, CO. April 7th, 2012. Freddy was one of the two youngest competitors in an open field of 50+ riders and rode solidly in the subzero temps of the night. Only 1st place was awarded (not to Freddy), but Freddy made off with a one month supply of EVOL burritos and some other cool prizes, not to mention just being stoked to ride side by side with some of the Western Rocky Mountain region's best rail talent!

Have you ever been a little strapped so you took a dare to win some cash? Would you drop a cliff naked for $60? (Keep in mind how bare skin feels on snow during a slam). After a long day of snowmobiling in the deep Lake Tahoe backcountry with the Flow Snowboard team, Nial Romanek took just this challenge. After some convincing, with probably not the best confidence and some cold parts Nial strapped in. Pointed his board straight, ollied off the cliff, threw his jacket back, and well, you can see how the landing worked out. Perfect ending to a perfect day? Do such things really exist? Who knows, but ending a day with a great laugh is how I like to go out.
